The D810 Touch features a touchscreen interface and Measure in Picture (MIP), a measurement mode that uses the point finder camera in conjunction with the laser and tilt sensor to measure the width of flat objects or the diameter of round objects (such as tanks) right on a picture taken with the device.

Description
The world’s first ever laser distance meter with a touchscreen, the Leica DISTO™ D810 Touch is here. This all new Disto features an improved, intuitive and faster operation with the revolutionary feature ‘measure with a picture’ which determines distances using its built in hi resolution camera. The camera also allows for pictures to be taken and transferred to a computer easily using a USB system. The ‘Leica DISTO™ sketch’ app, which is available to download for free, improves and completes functionality.
The D810 Touch is built durable and has the IP54 rating which assures that the device is protected against dust and water splashes. Its rechargeable Li-Ion battery takes up to 4,000 measurements on a single charge. The device also automatically stores the last 30 measurements and with the use of a tripod, the long-range mode can be used for long-distance measurements under unfavorable conditions.
The device has a keypad mode and a large touchscreen, which can be operated using the common gestures used on smartphones and measurements can also be taken using the touch screen, avoiding unintentional movement during measurements. Using its built-in camera, the Disto D810 can capture the height, width, area, and diameter of objects with only one measurement.
